Adapt it to your needs

Plan water, food and essential needs for the first 72 hours, and consider longer-lasting needs for your circumstances. Consider portable weight, supplies at home and individual requirements together. Everything need not fit into one heavy bag.

Check and refresh

  • Keep your kit accessible and make sure household members know its location.
  • Review supplies for seasonal needs, at least every six months and after use.
  • Check food and medication expiry dates, batteries and power-bank charge. Seek professional advice on medicine storage.
  • Build supplies gradually according to your budget. Check useful items already available at home before buying new ones.
